Breast Uplift (Mastopexy)
A breast uplift raises and reshapes breasts that have sagged due to age, weight changes, pregnancy or genetics. The breast is repositioned to look firmer and more youthful.
What is it?
A breast uplift (mastopexy) removes excess skin and reshapes the breast tissue to raise the breast and nipple to a higher, more youthful position. It does not significantly change breast size.
Why might someone consider it?
- Your breasts have sagged due to ageing, pregnancy or weight loss
- Your nipples point downward or sit below the breast crease
- You want a firmer, lifted breast without changing the size
- You have stretched skin around the breasts
What happens during your consultation?
Miss Dua will examine your breasts and discuss what an uplift can achieve. She will explain the incision pattern and expected scarring.
Treatment or surgical process
Excess skin is removed and the breast tissue is reshaped and lifted. The nipple is repositioned. If you also want a change in size, reduction or augmentation can be combined.
Recovery
Most patients stay one night. A compression bra is worn for six weeks. Return to normal activities is typically two weeks.
Results
The breasts appear lifted and firmer. Final shape settles over several months.
Scarring
Scarring depends on the technique. Common patterns include around the areola, a vertical scar, or an anchor pattern. Scars fade over 12 to 18 months.
Risks and considerations
- Changes in nipple sensation
- Scarring
- Asymmetry between the two breasts
- Wound healing problems
Miss Dua's approach
Miss Dua plans uplift surgery with an artist's understanding of proportion and form, aiming for natural results with minimal visible scarring.
Breast Uplift (Mastopexy) — frequently asked questions
Will an uplift change my breast size?
An uplift alone does not significantly change size. If you want smaller or larger breasts, this can be discussed.
Can an uplift be combined with other procedures?
Yes. An uplift can be combined with reduction or, in some cases, with explant surgery.
